Donald and Melanie joined forces at the beginning of 1997 and started their quick progression through the Amateur ranks in both Ballroom and Latin American Sections, winning numerous titles and championships on the way:
KENT MODERN CHAMPIONS;
SOMERSET BALLROOM CHAMPIONS;
EAST ANGLIAN MODERN & LATIN CHAMPIONS;
MIDDLESEX 10 DANCE CHAMPIONS;
WELSH GRAND PRIX 10 DANCE CHAMPIONS; Etc...

 

Throughout their Amateur careers, Donald and Melanie have always been renowned by their peers as being one of the most active amateur couples in both the national and international competition circuits. They were one of the highest ranked British couple in the IDSF (now WDSF) World Ranking system and reached the latter stages of many major international championships:
TOKYO INTERNATIONAL OPEN;
SPANISH OPEN;
LION CITY CHAMPIONSHIPS-Singapore;
THAILAND OPEN; Etc...

 

During their last few years as Amateurs, they have channelled their time into Ballroom section, and have become one of the leading Amateur couples in the country. They have finished top 3 in the North of England Ballroom Dancing Championship and semi-finalists in the British National Ballroom Championship consecutively for their last 3 years as Amateurs.

 

Since joining the professional rank, they relentlessly carry on actively competing both home and abroad. In their first year, they finished:
3rd at Granollers, Spain;
2nd at the IDTA Classic Championships, Southampton (only 2nd to Anton du Beke and Erin Boag, from Strictly Come Dancing!);
Finalists at the Spanish Open, Italian Open & French Masters;
Top 48 in the UK Rising Stars Championship, Bournemouth;
Finalists at the UK Closed Championship, Bournemouth;
Top 24 in the International Rising Stars Championship, London and
4th at the National Championships.

 

Before their retirement in the professional competive arena, out of the 400 plus competing Professionals worldwide, they maintained their top 30 ranking in the World Dance Council's World Series ranking list, being the 4th highest British couple in the ranking. They are also the first ever professional British couple that got awarded the wildcard entry to the European Professional Ballroom Championship.They also were the undefeated Essex Professional Champions for 3 consecutive years.

 

Apart from being Members of the International Dance Teachers' Association (IDTA), they are also members of
the Guild of Professional Teachers of Dance (GPTD),
Ballroom Dancer's Federation (BDF),
British Dance Council (BDC),

 

They are available for demonstrations, lectures, workshops and are currently teaching in Telford area.
